As lovers of beautiful and interesting places all over the world, its no surprise that Conde Nast Traveller is one of our favourite publications.

We were thrilled that the Manor got a mention in their recent article Johannesburg is an Art & Design Lover’s Delight by Mary Holland and was great to see some images of the fantastic Design Week South Africa events tthat took place at 44 Stanley.



Joburg's best cheesecake

Salvation Cafe has won the title of Best Cheesecake in Joburg, after being nominated by customers and judged by the team devoted to finding the 'best of Joburg', Anele and the club from 947 (May 2023).

Petal & Post, mainly an e-commerce store’s Joburg branch is in 44 Stanley. The brainchild of Kim du Plessis. Petal & Post is a female-owned business at reaching loved ones when hands aren’t able to. 

A mere three years after establishing the Cape Town branch, Petal & Post expanded to Johannesburg and Durban.

Film festival to inspire: ARIFF 2021

“The ARIFF seeks to address issues of accessibility, empowerment and development for previously and currently disadvantaged segments of society.” - Naledi de Wee

The 4th annual Africa Rising International Film Festival (ARIFF), first hosted in 2018, boasted a hybrid model this year with online viewings, in-person events and talks.

A variety of films, from countries like Tanzania, Zimbabwe, Nigeria, Egypt and Kenya was shown. This film festival also partnered with Tik-Tok, a short form video social media platform, a first for the continent.
